    Provision of the public health insurance in compliance with the valid laws for the insured persons registered with the OHIC.

    Collection of the health insurance premium and control of such collection, including the recovery of premium claims, penalties etc.

    Control of the use and provision of health care paid from the public health insurance funds. The mediation of the payment of cost for the provided health care paid from the public health insurance funds in compliance with the valid laws and under the valid interstate treaties concluded.

  4. Organizational Structure

    The organizational structure of the OHIC is formed by the insurance company directorate, insurance company branches or lower organizational units (e.g. branch offices). The branches and branch offices do not have their own legal personality and perform the activity in compliance with the Rules of Organization of the OHIC.

    The position, internal structuring and activity of the OHIC are regulated by the Rules of Organization of the OHIC.

    The head of the OHIC is the General Director appointed and discharged by the Management Board.

    The General Director of the OHIC is the statutory body of the OHIC and acts on its behalf.

  10. Application for Information

    Basic information under Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on Free Access to Information.

    The OHIC is an entity obliged to provide information relating to the OHIC decision-making under Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on Free Access to Information, as amended (“Act”).

    Applications for providing information under this Act may be filed orally or in writing with all branches of the OHIC; we recommend to turn to the branch being closest to the place where the applicant has his/her permanent residence or registered office.

    Information to the usual extent is provided free of charge.

    An appeal against a decision on refusing an application may be filed within 15 days of the decision being notified to the applicant.

    An appeal may be filed with the respective organizational division of the OHIC which decided on a first-instance basis. The appeal must contain the elements stipulated in the Act and must indicate against what decision it is filed.

  11. Receipt of Applications and Other Filings

    Applications, notices and filings under the relevant acts (e.g. Act No. 48/1997 Coll.) may be filed with all contact places of the OHIC (see paragraph 4).

    Some applications, notices and filings under the acts mentioned must be filed in writing on the prescribed forms (see paragraph 12).

    Applications, notices and filings may also be sent to the OHIC electronically to http://portal.ozp.cz.

    Within the administrative procedure it is possible to send a filing in writing or orally in the protocol or electronically signed in the form of the guaranteed electronic signature (through the electronic filing room). If a filing is made through any other technical means without using the guaranteed electronic signature, the filing must be confirmed within 5 days according to the previous sentence (see section 37(4) of the Administrative Procedure Code).

  12. Remedial Measures

    Appeals or any other remedial measures against a decision under which the OHIC decides on the rights and obligations of persons must be filed with the body which rendered the decision.
